Funding for DPHB Service Learning Opportunities

Dr. Darling led the submission of a small grant funded by the Swearer Center at Brown University to support the expansion of service-learning opportunities in community settings for trainees in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. This was a joint effort between the Anti-Racism Steering Committee Community Outreach group (co-led by Dr. Darling) and the Child Track Social Justice committee. The project team will collaborate with community members on its new Community Engagement Steering Committee on this project. The goal of this project is to develop a structure for trainee service-learning opportunities that maximize community impact, measure outcomes, and include metrics that incorporate “lessons learned.”
